July 10 Accident on I-35/Turnpike

On Friday, July 10, at approximately 5 pm, a northbound vehicle hydroplaned and lost control on the wet roadway at MM 118 on the Kansas Turnpike/I-35. The vehicle left the roadway and entered an area of rapidly moving floodwater in the northbound ditch. This was due to the flash flooding that was occurring in the area. The driver has been identified as 21-year-old Zachary Clark of Keller, Texas. This information has been provided from KHP’s preliminary investigative report. No other information is available at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.
