Under supervision: removes, installs, diagnoses, repairs, and adjusts ticket readers, self-pay machines, lane controllers, RF equipment, treadles, loop detectors/light curtains and associated equipment, test equipment, batteries and associated circuits, and other electronic equipment and devices. Operates test and measuring equipment to evaluate performance and locate malfunctions. Diagnoses common problems, repairs, replaces, adjusts to specifications, cleans and lubricates electronically controlled mechanical devices.


  1. Must have thorough knowledge of electronics and electronic troubleshooting including microcomputers, interface devices, electronically controlled motors and servos, relays, printers and power supplies.
  2. Must have basic knowledge of maintenance including the proper methods for cleanliness, lubrication, and adjustment.
  3. Must have the ability to read and interpret all types of electronic circuit diagrams including computer logic, digital, AC and DC circuits.
  4. Must have the ability to recognize, diagnose and correct common malfunctions in electronic systems and electro-mechanical equipment and devices.
  5. Computer proficiency using Windows and DOS.
  6. Must be 18 years of age or older.


  1. Ability to lift from floor to overhead level items weighing approximately 30 pounds and maneuver 50 pounds safely.
  2. Must be able to sit, stand, squat, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
  3. Must be able to work indoors or outdoors during day or nighttime, including some weekends and holidays.


  1. Graduate of an accredited high school or equivalent.
  2. One year of trade, vocational school or military electronic technical schooling preferred.
  3. Two years minimum technical servicing experience following schooling.
