April 2019

Work Zone Safety

Earlier this month, we kicked off a busy roadway construction season with National Work Zone Awareness Week. KTA Equipment Operator, Kayne Kraus, shared his story about his close call in a work zone last summer. Read it here.

Congratulations to Madison Kunze from Olathe who was named the winner of our 2019 Work Zone Awareness Week design contest! She won 1st place out of a record-setting 187 entries. You can view the winning entry and the six other finalists in our online album.

Construction Spotlight & Update

We have a new monthly series for you! Each month, we will spotlight a specific construction project along our roadway. This month, learn a little bit more about the Truck Parking System that is being installed at our service areas.

As always, keep up-to-date on each project in April’s Construction Update.

Distracted Driving Awareness Month

April is distracted driving awareness month. We’ve gathered a few of our 2018 Put the Brakes on Fatalities video contest finalists who had some powerful messages against distracted driving. We highly recommend watching these great videos!
