Teen Driver Safety

Vehicular crashes are the number one cause of death for teenagers ages 15-18. In commemoration of National Teen Driver Safety Week, October 20-26, we’re excited to share the top three winning videos of our Put the Brakes on Fatalities video contest. These videos were created by Kansas teens to raise awareness about dangerous driving habits.

Construction Highlights

Our third toll plaza with highway speed electronic lanes is opening at Southern Terminal soon. How you use the toll plaza will change so make sure you’re fully prepared. Learn how highway speed electronic lanes work and watch this new video about how we made it possible.

Temperatures are falling, but we’re still at work! Stay up-to-date on our current projects in the Construction Report.

K-TAG Tip of the Month: License Plates

As we get closer to the opening of our newest Highway Speed Electronic lane at Southern Terminal (MM 17), it’s important to have your K-TAG account up-to-date.

When adding your license plate information, there are a few pieces of information to take note of, especially if you have a specialty tag (Personalized, Educational Institutions, Military, Disabled, etc.). Your “Wichita State 1234” tag does not read the same way as the “Firefighter 1234 tag”. Make sure you’ve selected the correct tag style so your trips are charged correctly and you don’t receive an unintentional violation.

Happy Anniversary

This week, on October 25, KTA celebrates 63 years of service. Thank you for choosing to make the Kansas Turnpike part of your travels.
